The site of "Barbie" in the driveway gave me a big smile. Andrea was home!!! I looked for her and found he in the basement (Where I believe she will abide this time home!) She was sitting cross legged on the daybed with her "life" around her and a big smile and "Hi mom". Something about when your kids come home, for however long, you feel once again that tug at your heart! We had dinner together...at the dinning room table...first time in a long while for me!!! It was nice to have someone to cook for and eat with outside of a restaurant. Andrea will settle in (I hope) and begin the process of seeking her next adventure! I have selfishly set some things aside for her to help me with and we begin with taking a little vacation up north to visit some familiar places and family. Lori is coming along too and we are excited for this excursion "back in time". We will visit Ludington and my folks, Charlevoix and my aunts ( camping down by lake Charlevoix as in my youth!), heading to Mackinac Island to trek around another old stomping ground for me, then either to Harbor Springs to visit Deborah and David or to Lewiston to visit Libby and Brad. So these five days will be busy, and hopefully full of new great memories for the three of us! Then I am hoping to enlist Andrea in a painting project and clean up of the garden area! I know she has some things she would also like to accomplish, one is simplifying her life, getting rid of clutter and excess as she moves towards her future. I hope in all of this some of her "past" will stand the test of necessity and remain. That is the sentimental part of me!!!!
