A distance too far...

What is a mother to do when the call comes in that her child is facing some of life's difficulties far from home and there is not any way to help? That is when you pull yourself up by your boot straps and become the cheerleader. You encourage and fill them full of love and hopefully confidence in their own ability to get through this situation on their own... After the call you allow yourself the pain of not being able to pick them up and place a kiss on the hurt and send them back the what ever they were doing. You wipe your tears, and are thankful for your own strength to let them soar... You reach for your own cuddly champion and are thankful once again for the bigger picture, for the gentle arms that will encircle you both even though you are oceans away from each other...
